Long-term unemployment is slowly eating away at me.

Just when I think I can take no more and am about to whore myself out on the street, a new flash game ends up in my inbox.

Where do I meet these nerds?

On a more serious note,
and from my observations of friends and family in the same predicament,
we have a tendency to develop fixations with the most mundane things.

I guess that's the way to cope, right? After you've exhausted all of your ideas for starting your own business, becoming a master chef, picking up something you never had time for in the past; after all your other aspirations have came and gone and the optimistic phase of unemployment is over, all that's left are mindless distractions.

Pronounced "var-shav-a" in Polish. Legend says that a fisherman named Wars accidentally caught the lovely mermaid Sawa in his net. They fell in love and the city was named for them. Today the mermaid is the symbol of Warsaw.

The Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, affectionately called "Stalin's Penis" by the locals. It now houses one of the fanciest restaurants in town, I bet Stalin would have loved that...

Polish night train Wroclaw to Gdansk:

We met a drunk biker from Gydnia. He ranted about how horrible the US's education system is for an hour. Then he started on about how California was ridiculous "because it's California." Before he passed out, he was telling us about his time in "beautiful" New Jersey.

That sums up my Polish train experiences.
